Bosco Agostino Barolo "Neirane" Docg 2018

(0 review)
Neirane is situated in Verduno on the border with La Morra. The wines of Verduno are championed as being amongst the most elegant in Barolo as the soils here comprise a notable proportion of sand as well as clay.

How is Made

VINIFICATION: The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 °C. The maceration lasts 20-22 days. After racking, the wine is held at about 20°C to allow initiation of a malolactic fermentation. The wine is then held in barrique and tonneaux for about 6-7 months before transfer to botti (capacity 2000 liters) made of Slavonian oak to age 23-24 months. At the end of this period, the wine is bottled in August and released the following March

CHARACTERISTICS:  It means Barolo from Verduno can be broached quite early as the tannins are not as prominent and bold as you will find in other communes such as Monforte d’Alba, Serralunga d’Alba or Castiglione Falletto. Beautiful aromas of sweet, ripe and markedly juicy red fruits meld with a scented, floral note and a touch of orange peel. The vibrant palate reveals notes of kirsch and spiced loganberry and raspberry with a little tobacco leaf and a zesty citrus touch to the finish. This is a gorgeous Barolo – already enjoyable given the supple accent that characterizes the 2018 vintage. Refined, pure and long. A real success.
