The Amarsa bitter is exclusive to the Alagna wineries in Marsala, being the only ones to produce it.
The term Amarsa is given by the combination of the words ”Amaro” and ”Marsala”, creating a union, almost as if it were a warm embrace, which perfectly reflects the unique flavors of this wine which explode in the mouth at the moment of tasting , and which delicately envelop the palate.
Amarsa has Marsala Fine as its base, to which digestive herbs are added which will give a more persistent and particular taste. The addition of different aromas, such as gentian, orange, makes this flavored wine much more amiable. However, being a bitter, it needs to be drunk at the end of a meal, like a normal digestive. However, it is also a versatile wine as it can be used in the preparation of different cocktails.
